ACTION RESEARCH IN CONTINUING TRAINING OF FUNDAMENTAL SCHOOL TEACHERS ABOUT THE USE OF DIGITAL INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract

The introduction of Digital Information and Communication Technologies has been taking place in schools more frequently in recent years, requiring specific training for teachers. Continuing education represents the possibility of new learning and teaching professional development. This article aims to analyze the transformative movement in the use of digital technologies by teachers from the early years of elementary school that participated in a training research based on the methodological principles of action research. This type of research aims to involve participants in the investigated situation through a cyclical process of collective reflection. In this study, six training meetings were held with the participating teachers, which took place in 2019 and 2020, before and during the pandemic. The training meetings with the teachers were recorded and filmed, whose material constitutes the research data. The data analysis indicates that there was a significant involvement of the teachers in the studies and reflections, and a substantial appropriation of the use of digital technologies, intensified in the process of virtualization of classes. The results reveal the dialectical movement in the transformation of teachers' practices, as well as in the role of digital technologies in the educational process.
