MEANINGS ATTRIBUTED BY CHILDREN TO THE INSTITUTIONAL SCHOOL INITIATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - PIBID

Abstract

This study aims to understand the meanings given by the children related to PIBID, from the experiences lived by them in 2017 in Pedagogy and Physical Education subprojects at the Regional University of Blumenau – FURB. This qualitative research is justified due to absence of studies regarding the children’s point of view related to the theme which was observed in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), from 2009 to 2017. The context consisted of two public schools in the city of Blumenau – SC, the research participants were ten children who were students from the 3rd grade in elementary school. Data generation happened through conversation groups and its analysis was performed based on the Content Analysis principles. Four groups were gathered, retrospectively, which describe the main meanings provided by the children related to PIBID: a) active participation as a methodological assumption; b) changes brought about in school places; c) knowledge from activities developed by PIBID; and d) affection. These categories made it possible to infer that the children lived, within the framework of proposals developed by PIBID, quite significant experiences in their educational process. The activities enabled them to participate in taking decisions on the proposals developed; to experience a school with physical space considering their characteristics and needs; and, to develop important learning in an affective and welcoming way.
